Each of us moved to Costa Rica in search of the same things: a slower pace of life, a closer connection to nature, and a real sense of community. We came from different places and different paths, but Costa Ballena, with its slower rhythm, its wildlife, and the genuine people who live among the jungle and the sea, is what made us stay.
While each of us has our own businesses and careers here, we kept noticing the same gap: homeowners in our community were quietly searching for someone they could truly trust with their home and their pets. Friends started asking. Their friends started asking. The referrals kept coming, until it became clear this deserved to be something more organized and professional.

Brooke Herman, 27, originally from North Carolina, has been living in Costa Rica's Southern Zone for the past five years. She works as a custom travel planner for Costa Rica and an Airbnb host in the Southern Zone, building a lifestyle centered around travel, hospitality, community, and caring for beautiful homes and animals. A devoted animal lover, Brooke already house sits for a majority of clients in Ojochal.

30, originally from Arizona and an entrepreneur, retreat leader, and yoga teacher living in the Uvita area for two years. She has completed many successful house and pet sitting stays for high end homeowners who value reliability, discretion, and exceptional care for their homes, pets, and properties.

Co-Founder
27, from San Francisco, California and calling Uvita home for two years. She works in social media marketing and has completed numerous house and pet sitting stays across Uvita and Ojochal, caring for everything from beachfront villas to jungle homes and the dogs, cats, and rescues that live in them. In her spare time she works closely with El Refugio Animal Shelter in Uvita, constantly finding and helping strays find their forever homes. Caring for animals is second nature and a true passion.
